Ron Zacapa 23 Solera Rum was created in 1976 in the highlands of Guatemala, where it is distilled in a copper-lined column still from fresh cane juice before solera aging.
The 500 year-old Spanish Sistema Solera method is used to age Ron Zacapa 23 in white oak casks. This results in a combination of rums aged between 6 and 23 years.
The current Ron Zacapa 23 bottle features a woven band around the middle, which is in reference to the original hand woven palm leaf petate bottle cover that covered the bottle.

This is a one of the smoothest rums I have drank. My simple rating system is smoothness, taste, an price. So it's top rated for smoothness. Taste is good but surprisingly sweet. I like it but I wonder if it is natural or "semi spiced". Price is above my comfortable price point so it settles with and 8
Lekkere geur, vol van smaak. Lekker as usual, met wat drupjes water en opgewarmd in de hand. Zeker in de persoonlijke top 3. Soms wat scherp maar niet te.

If you have a sweet tooth, this rum is for you.
The sweetness is not to overwhelming but it is pretty strong.
It is a classic rum that everybody should taste.
Good quality rum. Very tasteful. I wonder what the difference is between the 23 and the xo version
Not really a great rum, lots of aftertaste though.
