Ron Zacapa 23 Solera Rum was created in 1976 in the highlands of Guatemala, where it is distilled in a copper-lined column still from fresh cane juice before solera aging.
The 500 year-old Spanish Sistema Solera method is used to age Ron Zacapa 23 in white oak casks. This results in a combination of rums aged between 6 and 23 years.
The current Ron Zacapa 23 bottle features a woven band around the middle, which is in reference to the original hand woven palm leaf petate bottle cover that covered the bottle.

Dalsi klasika mezi rumy. Na zacatku mi moc nesedel, pak mi ve warehousu poradili nalit ho na led a bomba - rum se uplne promeni a je o level nekde jinde.
Vune je slvelou kombinaci cokolady, tresni a vanilky. Chut sussi, korenena s karamelkou nakonci.
Wonβt restock when finished but enjoyable none-the-less.
Denne Zacapa Solera 23 Γ₯rs er rigtig god med en dejlig smag. Den er tilpas spids og der er virkelig meget eftersmag pΓ₯. Den er sΓΈd men ogsΓ₯ som nΓ¦vnt fΓΈr spids i smagen. En rigtig god rom hvis man er ny i faget men er kommet vΓ¦k fra de elendige Bacardi og Morgan.
There are tons of reviews of this rum. Not much more I could add. I received my bottle as a gift. I'll happily sip this rather sweet spirit at that price! I also recently saw it at a great price at Costco. I'd definitely pick up another bottle if I saw it at that price again. (mid $20s, I think).
Dark mahogany color belies a subtle nose that is barely sweet with a hint of smoke. In the mouth, gentle sweet molasses and enormous complexity. In the throat, A bit thicker but long and again gentle. I tasted this one with three other bigger rums, and it barely showed itself. Sip this one alone, late as a night cap. Extraordinary in its gentle complexity!
Nice sweet favor. It has a bit of bite by itself, but a nice favor mixed with coke.
Actually quite dry and oaky.

Decanted, the rum displays a surprising body in the glass for something so apparently light, and has slow and strong legs down the side of the glass.
