Guatemala | Aged | 40% ABV | Column Still (1-4)
Ron Zacapa 23 Solera Rum was created in 1976 in the highlands of Guatemala, where it is distilled in a copper-lined column still from fresh cane juice before solera aging.
The 500 year-old Spanish Sistema Solera method is used to age Ron Zacapa 23 in white oak casks. This results in a combination of rums aged between 6 and 23 years.
The current Ron Zacapa 23 bottle features a woven band around the middle, which is in reference to the original hand woven palm leaf petate bottle cover that covered the bottle.

Good rum, smooth and Demerara sugar dominated. Not too many flavours I could pick out but cloves, vanilla and a slight hint of wood-spice all there.
Short review on this which is apt as this rum has short flavour, it doesn't last or carry forward in the mouth, short finish. Cant see why you would buy this over El Dorado 12 which this in such a different class. I only drink this if in a bar and this is the best offering.
メープルシロップのような甘さが特徴のラム。キレが良く、雑味がない。日本でも大人気のラムです。コスパも良く、初心者にも良いとおもいます。
Really enjoyed this one. Terrific aftertaste. Delicious
Nice smooth rum. Very flavorful.
For the price it's worth the taste.
Easy to drink but nothing that blows your socks off.
No, no me arrepiento es un ron tremento pero me gustan más otros que valen la mitad, este lo compré en 37€/ litro las navidades pasadas en un duty free y me rafirmo....algo decepcionado, demasiada fama supongo, o tal vez mi gusto es raro.
It my favorite Guatemala rum. I love the taste. Just smoky, long aftertaste. Mmm...
It is good, very good. Just as now I think, it is not so sweet at all! It is very drinkable, taste and aftertaste are just about perfect. So, I rated this one whole 10, in a moment very much just taste is so good, not a too much of a character, which is presentable in Venezuelan type.
Sure recommend for pure joy.
Actually quite dry and oaky.
"Flavour builds if you leave the rum in your mouth for a little longer allowing it to coat the palate."
Wonderfully intricate with honeyed butterscotch, spiced oak and raisined fruit...

Decanted, the rum displays a surprising body in the glass for something so apparently light, and has slow and strong legs down the side of the glass.

A little ordinary, nice color, notes of caramel, vanilla, but again a blend. One good thing is, when my nose is getting a little blocked because of a cold, it seems to help with 2 Ron Zacapa's, nice medicine. It's funny - because it's only Ron Zacapa.
