United States | Gold | 40% ABV

Bacardi Gold rum is manufactured in Puerto Rico where it is distilled from fermented molasses. It is then filtered through charcoal and aged in charred oak barrels for between 1 and 2 years. Unlike Bacardi Superior, Bacardi Gold is only filtered once.

Bacardi's official logo, a fruit bat, dates to 1862 when founder Don Facundo Bacardi found fruit bats living in rafters of the building he bought to house the distillery. Bats are considered an omen of good luck in Cuba and have emblazoned Bacardi rum bottles ever since.

Netter than the white, but or doesn't live up to it's promise. Nice as a mixer, but nothing more.

Bacardi Gold was my first serious initiation into the world of rum. It is not the first rum I ever had but it's the first one I drank consistently. The friend who introduced me to Bacardi Gold told me that if I enjoyed it it would lead me to trying other, more flavorful rums.

I haven't had this in many years, and would only drink it as a last resort nowadays. Only good as mixer.

In mix vond ik het persoonlijk iets te scherp misschien zou een schijfje citroen/limoen het wat afzachten

While this stuff obviously can't compare to real stuff it isn't that bad. If 5 is average for cheap stuff I would give a 6.5. I rounded down because of the fact that they use Carmel color to make it look more aged than it is. Would never drink it straight but would say it is fine for the average person in a cheap mixed drink. That being said if it was me I wouldn't touch it and just drink quality stuff, even when mixed.

If you don't know anything about rum or just hate a good rum and coke then this is for you. It's a very low end rum, like most Bacardi rums, but it's not there worst it just tastes like cheap alcohol with hints of rum. I'd stay away from it.

It's not too tough to drink, but the finish reminds me too much of white rum which I don't like.

Well, if you were to draw a plain stick figure on a blank white piece of paper...it would be this. Very little character...alcohol, a bit of sweetness that's hard to decipher, and some burn. It's a mixer with no character. If you're looking for similar, but need some flavor, go Oak Heart. It's at least got some sort of added flavor.

Had it a couple of times way before I started drinking better rums (when i was still a student). I had it mixed with coke and lime. I will never buy a bottle again. I'll rather pay for Bacardi 8 años instead of having a free bottle of this. Just not my thing.

This is not sweet, not complex, not smooth. I suppose if you added enough fruit juice you could get it down.
