United States | Gold | 40% ABV
Bacardi Gold rum is manufactured in Puerto Rico where it is distilled from fermented molasses. It is then filtered through charcoal and aged in charred oak barrels for between 1 and 2 years. Unlike Bacardi Superior, Bacardi Gold is only filtered once.
Bacardi's official logo, a fruit bat, dates to 1862 when founder Don Facundo Bacardi found fruit bats living in rafters of the building he bought to house the distillery. Bats are considered an omen of good luck in Cuba and have emblazoned Bacardi rum bottles ever since.

better than silver but only for mixing not really straight
This is another rum I use for mixing with cola and Dr. Pepper. Would not drink it neat.
Simple rum for mix, nothing more, a little bit better in taste that havana
That's what I get from this, vanilla and alcohol. From the smell to the mouth feel, to the taste. All I get is alcohol and vanilla.
Appearance: Pale amber, transparent
Aroma: alcohol, slight molasses
Taste: slightly sweet, slightly bitter
Flavor: wood, slight vanilla
Texture: thin, burn
Finish: short, dry, flavorless
This one is tasty enough to be used for cocktail (like cuba libre) but on its own this is not enough to spend time and money.
I know its not "cool" or trendy but I still enjoy Bacardi Gold.
Great when needing to mix and smoke a cigar. Rum and Coke etc.
It's nothing that will blow your socks off but it is by far the best amber rum in its price range.
"Despite Bacardi Gold being such a standard for frat house rum and cokes..."
