Bacardi Gold rum is manufactured in Puerto Rico where it is distilled from fermented molasses. It is then filtered through charcoal and aged in charred oak barrels for between 1 and 2 years. Unlike Bacardi Superior, Bacardi Gold is only filtered once.
Bacardi's official logo, a fruit bat, dates to 1862 when founder Don Facundo Bacardi found fruit bats living in rafters of the building he bought to house the distillery. Bats are considered an omen of good luck in Cuba and have emblazoned Bacardi rum bottles ever since.

Drinkable with mixers, but nothing special here for sure
Did not get the feeling that it way a top shelf rum. Ok to use as a mixer but not for a sipper. The color is good but has a little bit. I will not keep it on hand for my guests.

Definitely not a top shelf rum, but every once in a while a nice amber rum and coke is just what the doctor ordered and this makes a tasty one.
So incredible smooth you think there is no alcohol on this drink, but if you drink it, it hit you nice. Wow, I choose this drink above any other drink in the world. Thank you BACADI for this drink.. I mix with any fruit drink or coca cola.

Ok to get alcohol content up into a drink. Or if you need a rum toddy because you are sick.
Has a suttle rum flavort I love. I have tasted rum from all areas of the carribean and
this is my favorite.
Just a shelf rum nothing special... Can be great with coke...
Not the worst rum i ever tasted but there are so many better ones out there.
Mix with coke only. Do not atempt to sip, heavy flavor.

I think this gets low ratings because it's the "common" brand. But it's a solid, safe bet, especially if you just want a rum-and-coke.
