Pampero Aniversario was first crafted in 1963 to commemorate the Pampero company’s 25th anniversary. The rum is a blend of rums ranging in maturity from four to six years and aged in whisky and bourbon barrels.
The Pampero distillery was founded by Alejandro Hernández of Venezuela in 1938. The brand is now a division of the world’s largest liquor holding company, Diageo.

As my girlfriend is from Venezuela, it bothered me that I didn't have any Venezuelan rum in stock. I'm not a fan of the overly sweetened rums, but I decided to give the Pampero a go. Kind of a classic in Venezuela, but definitely not the best. The general consensus there seems to be that Santa Teresa is one of the best (happy to say I now also have a bottle of Santa Teresa 1796 for a special occasion). Anyways, on to the rum at hand.
The Pampero is very nicely presented in a cool stubby bottle with a faux leather pouch. After popping the cork and pouring, it reveals a caramel and slightly vanilla aroma. The taste is very caramel- and toffee-like, maybe even a slight hint of coffee. Quite enjoyable, but it lacks a bit of punch for me. The finish is good, but quite short. You really have to keep sipping this one to keep some taste in your mouth.
Judging by how empty the bottle is, that is exactly what happens. I like it as a daily sipper and that's just what it is for me. The presentation suggests that it's something special, but to me it's just a nice rum.
The smell of this rum is thirteen in a dozen, the taste is slight oak en spice. The best price/taste i had so far(2-9-2017)
This bottle is a dream. I've been drinking it for years and it never disappoints. Definitely in my top five
En komplex och fyllig rom, lagom söt. Levereras i skinnpung. Inte dyr, klart prisvärd.

Had this following Ron zapaca 23 so maybe not fair test but this wasn't as good, but still pretty decent.
God rom til pengene. Kan fås de fleste steder. Supermarkedet fx.
At a bar, go ahead but I would not buy a bottle.
Reminded me of the diplomatico exclusiva reserva, but not as rich.
This rum is sweet for me, very warm and pleasant for drinking just as a sipper. for the money it's great

En rom med meget duft. den smager til gengæld ikke af meget. ser eksklusiv ud i læder posen
