Pampero Aniversario Reserva Exclusiva

I bought this hoping for a nice sipping rum but got kicked in the throat with the bite! It works as a mixing rum, but was let down trying it straight up.

First rum I ever tasted, but even now I don't find it anything special. Not bad, not great either

Bol to jeden skvely rum, ktory bol meritkom kvality! Mierne ale naozaj malinko sladky s dlhym orieskovo vanilkovym nasladlym zaverom. Bolo v nom citit alkohol, ale napriek tomu bol jemny!

Nemozem dat menej ako 8 bodov uz len koli starsim vydaniam, a pevne verim ze sa pampero v kvalite vrati par rokov naspat. Starsie vydania este vystihovali podstatu rumu....

For the price of 500 CZK, it pays off, does not offend, does not inspire. The problem is that it's exactly the category of rums you don't want to go back to, it's for drinks and eggnog, or for everyday drinking for alcoholics, but it doesn't have a hallmark of quality, even if someone praises it.

Za cenu 500kč to ujde, neurazí, nenadchne. Problém je, že je to přesně ta kategorie rumů, ke které nemáte chuť se vracet, je to do nápojů a vaječného koňaku, nebo pro každodenní pití pro alkoholiky, ale punc kvality to nemá, i když to někdo chválí.

You never forgot the first one and for me that was the Pampero Aniversario. Thats when I fall in love with rums. Probably this is the one which I drank the most over the years, because the affordable price, the great taste and all the memories. Truthfully, it should be around 7-7.5 for the rating, but for me its a solid 8 overall.

Got a dram of this in the advent calendar. Popped this in to an old fashion and it was lovely!

This is a really good rum for this price range. The smell is what captured me first, you get a hint of vanilla, molasses and a bit of sweetness. On the first sip you can immediately feel the alcohol, quite specific for lower priced rums, but it is not really disturbing. Overall not a bad rum.
