Single blended 5 year old rum made from estate grown sugar cane juice and molasses, aged in American Oak and Chiapas oak and infused with locally sourced organic cacao. Deadhead Dark Chocolate rum has the same luxurious texture of Deadhead with an added delight of dark, but not bittersweet, chocolate.

Goes down smooth you taste that initial chocolate in your taste buds
Neat and chilled or with a Mexican coke
This rum goes down smooth! The smell alone fills the air once you pour it out with a nice soft cocoa aroma. This rum is all natural with no additional chemicals or coloring and is nicely balanced. When you take a sip you will not only catch the chocolate flavor but also great notes of wood barrel so it still has a nice rum flavor with the finish having a hint of cherry. Not too sweet and makes a fantastic dessert rum. Pair with rum cake, ice cream or a nice coffee. If you like cigars the Nub coffee flavors will be amazing. Must try!
Vanilla and toasted marshmallows jump out of the glass. The nose is very strong and dominates the taste. Not really a rum for me, but very original.
Artificial chocolate taste and sweetness. One dimensional flavor. Avoid at all costs!
Enjoyed this over rocks. Smooth and a nice chocolate taste and aroma.
Smelling this in a blind tasting was a shock. Smells like buttery sweet dessert and tastes as such. Not what I'm looking for in a rum, but has its purpose, maybe in a strong, decadent cocktail or sipping straight after dinner.
Initial smell and taste is that of a Butter Rum Lifesaver. A few sips were great. Gave it an extra point for that. Too sweet for more than a few sips, however.

After the initial poor the nose is of chocolate. I let this one breathe, neat. The rum is smooth and has a pleasant and not overpowering taste of chocolate. I'm not sure I would keep this in my collection but I wouldn't turn down it if offered either.
