Mount Gay XO Extra Old

I have to say a very nice XO rum not to strong on the nose, with just the right amount of sweetness. Somooth indeed with just the right amount of Finnish. Almost like sipping on a fine wine, with a nice aged taste of the molasses not burnt. My taste palette is not as fine as others but I wish it was so I can taste all the complexly witch this rum offers.

Great rum, but the price is higher. Very good rum.

I got a bargain for this specific fifth of rum. Cost me $9. It was the smoothest rum I've ever experienced but there is no way I go back to it until I get a better paying job.

Rhum vieux de la Barbade qui titre 43°.
Design : bel écrin, bouteille élégante, le rhum a une belle couleur dorée.
Nez : très agréable, fruits confits, épices.
En bouche, l'attaque est très douce, dominante d'épices, poivre cannelle, boisé, puis alcool suivi d'une petite amertume.
Finale : rhum quasi évanescent, reste une note végétale.
Agréable mais on ne retrouve pas le punch et la puissance des rhums agricoles.

Good colour and initial aroma. Rich flavour with a mix of dried fruits but has a certain bitterness in the aftertaste which slightly ruins the initial experience for me.

Good not great.

Enjoyable sipper. Cant go wrong with it even when you are sad, young and straight.

All Mount Gay rums provide great golden color and mainly there is the smoky scent from the barrels. The rum itself has a slightly bitter taste (thats what I love apart from the smoky nose). The aftertaste is so pleasant. But it is still incomparable to the Old Cask (more expensive, but the best).

A little strong and not so soft but very good taste

Trodde att denna skulle vara bättre än Mount Gay Eclipse, men tyvärr inte. Det är väl så att jag gillar de lite sötare sorterna och då funkar inte denna för mig.
