Matusalem Gran Reserva 15-Year

Bought this bottle on 22/12/2016 in AH for apprx. 38€

I was able to drink it only with coke, what is a serious disappointment in the case of a rum like this

A really good starter rum for the beginner. I find it lacks the depth to hold up to other rums that are close in value. Some how I still find myself buying a bottle or two a year.

Venturing out to other brands and countries, I was a little disappointed with the Matusalem. Tasting notes on the shelf looked promising, but I found it to be lacking in depth and body. Higher than most for alcohol finish.

Nice introduction to the world of aged rums. Smooth flavour. Don't use for mixing with coke, use the white Matusalem instead...

Enjoy pure the aroma and smoothnees out of a nosing glass.

6.5 on my scale, but bottles aren't half full or empty here. One of my early non Bacardi White rums. A nice introduction to what I had been missing.
