Kraken Black Spiced Rum was first introduced by Proximo Spirits in 2010 . The dark rum is infused with 11 “secret” spices, caramel and other natural flavors.
The rum gets its name after the mythical sea creature 'The Kraken'. As legend has it, this terrifying creature attacked ships at sea during the 18th and 19th centuries - possibly for all the rum on board.

I typically like more natural flavours, so thuis rum is a bit too spicy for me. It says so in the name of course, but the taste of herbs is too strong.
This is not smooth at all! Taste very cheap, kinda like rubbing alcohol. Will not dring this again.
Good spiced rum, kinda set the standard for spiced rums for me. (i drink mainly aged rums)
When you want to enjoy your rum on a steady night out, kraken it is!
I really enjoy this stuff in a rum & Coke but straight or mixed overly strong, it's syrupy and somewhat medicine like. I think it's better than Captain Morgan.
Tasted strong and sweet. Drinks better as a dark rum, then as a spiced rum.

It's a very good rum, but to me it's a heavy drinking rum, cannot drink a lot of it.
I tried this rum neat, I liked it and it had a strong vanilla note that called for a mixing with a coke. I tried it with coke and it was ended up tasting alright and bitter. I like the ABV but I much rather spend a little more $$ to sip on a rum neat.
