Nicaragua | Aged | 40% ABV | Column Still (1-4)
A sugar-free 12-year old, ultra premium rum that is sustainably produced (Carbon Neutral & Fair Trade certified). From a 5th generation family estate, it is naturally aged without artificial ingredients, distilled 100% with renewable energy and KOSHER certified. A full-bodied rum with a long and smooth finish that lingers in the palate. Best enjoyed in a Rum Old Fashioned or with a splash of premium sparkling water or ginger ale and an orange twist.

This was once one of my favourite rums. Good quality at a very decent price. However the last bottles I drank were losing quality. I even consider that one bottle was adulterated and was unable to drink it. One can now sense much more alcohol.
Tento rum mi chutil najviac zo série 12-18-25Y. Asi to bolo tým ze mi chutia nasládle trochu ostrejšie a mladšie rumy. Rum nie je dosladzovaný, no aj tak je príjemne nasladlý. Vo vôni cítim drevo, vanilku a oriešky. V chuti sa k tomu pridáva ešte asi med. Príjemný štiplavejší záver. Chutný, poctivý rum za dobrú cenu. 8,5b
Beautiful bottle, complements the smooth taste, this bottle didn’t last long ;-)
Aroma: kávové tóny, kůže, skořice
Chuť: lehce kořenitá, skořicová
Dozvuk: lehce kakaový přecházející do spáleného karamelu. Krátký.
Sladkost: 1/3
Za nízkou cenu pohodové pití, ale průměrné. Profil rumů Caña je velmi podobný. Z trojice 12y, 18y a 25y mi přišla nejzajímavější 18y.
This is a round and nice everyday sipper. I'd prefer the 18 years old any day but this is almost just as good!
Opened this on the same evening as a bottle of Barcelo Imperial. Both have a super stylish bottle, both are dry and both cost less than €25. I expected this to be much smoother because of it's proclaimed age. Although a little better than the Imperial neat, it still begs for a coke in my opinion.
First thing is the alcohol nose and still a bit harsh with ice. Not much of an improvement over the 5 and 7 year olds. Let it breathe for a few minutes and the alcohol fumes disappear and it gets tasty. At this point a little better than the 5 and 7.
Finally tried this 2 year old again and was very pleased that there was nor alcohol nose, nicely smooth from the first sip. Still a 7 but better than I thought it was.
'smooth and full of fruit and nut flavors'
"Flor de Cana 12-Year rum review by The Ultimate Rum Guide"
There is very little astringency or “booze” noted in the nose.
"A sip reveals a very smooth yet spicy rum. There is very little burn it tingles on the lips and tongue for a long time. It is a long finish."

Good rum for the price, a bit on the dryer side, with nice notes of caramel and oak. A bit harsh for me for a straight sipper, but does really well with some ice or in a spirit-forward cocktail.
