El Dorado Special Reserve 15-Year rum is crafted from 15 to 25 year old rums that are then blended and married together in bourbon oak casks. Prior to blending the original batches are distilled using 4 unique stills - the Enmore and Diamond Coffey stills, the Port Mourant double wooden pot still, and the Versailles single wooden pot still.
The bottle of El Dorado Special Reserve 15-year was inspired by the the old hand-blown flasks used by sugar planters on the banks of the Demerara river.

For the money and taste, there is no other weekday rum. A great slow slip.
Less of the sweet oakiness than 12y, more complex. 3% more alcohol, needs to sit little more before tasting. Some spices on the tongue. I am no pro taster though, have problem finding those vanilla/orange taste, which is claimed by the most. More of honey oaky impression.
Can definitely taste the difference between this and the El Dorado 12. This is smoother and richer. A very nice after dinner with a cigar rum.
It is one of the best choices I've made so far because it is a very tasty rum if you want to drink it neat but also it gives a very good flavour to a Cuba Libre.
Lightly spiced nose. Fruity at first then bending towards an exotic cognac. Great balance, nice finish.
Rhum fuité avec final très agréable.
Ni trop sec, ni trop sucré, ce rhum est bien dosé.
Aucune note particulière ou atypique : un bon rhum et c'est tout !
Dejlig julegave fra svigermor. Dejlig smag let sød
To be fair I only had a 3cl sample bottle of this. I took a long time over it but from first opening to final sip there weren't many changes for me. I found the nose and taste weaker than the 12, with a prominent burn I wasn't really expecting. It is as others say a different rum to the 12, and also the 21. There's a link between the 12 and 21 but would put the 15 in a separate category.
El Dorado 12 is all you need, I wouldn't spend any more on the 15 or 21(again)
Disappointed.
Good rum, but you can find better in that price range. Lots of spices.
Full nose packed with dark coffee, candied orange, almonds, dark chocolate...
"El Dorado Special Reserve 15-Year rum review by Mike at Ultimate Rum Guide"
Has more oak and chocolate notes.
"It is initially very sweet, apples, bananas and rum soaked raisins but there are also some bittersweet plum like notes. The finish is spicy and fruity and long lasting."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

some times you get a bottle and you remember the other bottle being better. I find the 12 better
