El Dorado Special Reserve 15-Year rum is crafted from 15 to 25 year old rums that are then blended and married together in bourbon oak casks. Prior to blending the original batches are distilled using 4 unique stills - the Enmore and Diamond Coffey stills, the Port Mourant double wooden pot still, and the Versailles single wooden pot still.
The bottle of El Dorado Special Reserve 15-year was inspired by the the old hand-blown flasks used by sugar planters on the banks of the Demerara river.

I really love this type of rum... i already loved the 12 year old ED and the 15 year old one is more sophisticated. Just try it and you know what i'm talking about.
If you are not fan of sweet rums, try this one. No sugar, dry taste with great balance.
Great sipper and as I think rums and brandies drink similarly the taste of cognac and caramel bring it right on home. Excellent sipper, sometimes with one cube.
Very good spiced rum. Great bottle and a great taste for this Guyana's product. Smells really rich, aging in oak barrels.
With El Dorado 15-Year Special Reserve we enter the world of great rum.
Fresh and balanced nose with fruits like banana and plum combined with wooden flavors. Alcohol. Quite a powerful mouth with lemon zest and long finish.
I started my passion for rum with more fruity and spiced stuff and I wanted to see what lays beyond.
So I went to the shop and asked to have a totally different kind of rum, one that might even be enjoyed by a whiskey drinker (my father).
After tasting "El Dorado 15 y." I liked it immediately but then I took a look at the price and had second thoughts. So I asked for a similar rum that is maybe 10 or 12 bucks cheaper... but after tasting that other rum I turned back to the El Dorado and bought it immediately.
Det er en rom som alle kender, og den er til den tΓΈrrer side.
... but only after you have tasted it's younger brother, the 12 year old, so you can return to it afterwards!
Much different, harder in the taste, dominated by oak, tobacco and spices. Missing the firm sweetness of the 12 year old... Still a great rum though.
... Sorry older bro... Don't mean to judge you in an unfair way...
Sweet caramel after taste. Smoothes it down nicely. A good sipper for desert.
Full nose packed with dark coffee, candied orange, almonds, dark chocolate...
"El Dorado Special Reserve 15-Year rum review by Mike at Ultimate Rum Guide"
Has more oak and chocolate notes.
"It is initially very sweet, apples, bananas and rum soaked raisins but there are also some bittersweet plum like notes. The finish is spicy and fruity and long lasting."

For a sweeter rum this has a lot of depth. A great experience overall.
