El Dorado Special Reserve 15-Year rum is crafted from 15 to 25 year old rums that are then blended and married together in bourbon oak casks. Prior to blending the original batches are distilled using 4 unique stills - the Enmore and Diamond Coffey stills, the Port Mourant double wooden pot still, and the Versailles single wooden pot still.
The bottle of El Dorado Special Reserve 15-year was inspired by the the old hand-blown flasks used by sugar planters on the banks of the Demerara river.

This rum is very excellent in the glass and the nose is very smooth. First sip will hit your mouth with spice and a hint of other fruits. leaves a lovely caramel flavor coating on the tongue. Burn is very minimal and is a very smooth rum

En riktigt god rom, men den får bara en 7. Den 12-åriga är helt klart den bästa av de tre. Den 21-åriga kommer på andra plats. Båda dessa får en 9 av mig. 12yr en stark 9 medan 21yr endast en svag.
Vad är då skillnaden mellan de tre? Ja jag upplever 15yr som den spritigaste av dom och jag vill ha dom lena. Den är också den minst söta av dom och jag gillar rom åt det sötare hållet.
Mon palais n'est peut-être pas encore assez développé ou encore est-il brûlé pas mes années à boire n'importe quoi. Le El Dorado 15 est bon ne vous méprenez pas mais le goût ne justifie pas la différence prix avec le ED 12.

Really smooth, sweet, easy to sip rum. As a whisky fan who's getting into rum, this was a great start!
