El Dorado Special Reserve 15-Year rum is crafted from 15 to 25 year old rums that are then blended and married together in bourbon oak casks. Prior to blending the original batches are distilled using 4 unique stills - the Enmore and Diamond Coffey stills, the Port Mourant double wooden pot still, and the Versailles single wooden pot still.
The bottle of El Dorado Special Reserve 15-year was inspired by the the old hand-blown flasks used by sugar planters on the banks of the Demerara river.

Yes, this is good stuff. Have been drinking El Dorado 12 years before, but this is something different. You sure know it is from same place, molasses etc. but this 15 years old gold is stronger and better. This is taste and punch of experienced rumer. First glass in this summer time and I can feel it lot. I think I am getting better now, it is that good. Moves you to the good side.
Really excellent rum. Less sweet then 12 IMO.
Recommending!
Decent sipper for the price. Tones of vanilla and cocoa, a bit sweeter.
The best I’ve tried so far. This is my new go to Rum for sipping. I measure all others against this one.
I admit I am new to the evaluation of rum but have been enjoying it since my youth. I found this rum to have a great flavor but it seemed to have a slightly bitter back taste. But would enjoy again.
Nice and typically shaped bottle for El Dorado rums. Very pleasant aroma, better to stay a few minutes in a glass. But taste is not so complex and long lasting for blend of at least 15y old rums. To be honest I still prefer 12y El Dorado.
This rum is quite in mouth, aftertaste is sweet and there is no burn at all. The flavor, in my opinion, is too sweet. I add two or three ice cubes to reduce its sweetness. In nose it has a woody and sweet aroma.
Couldn't resist opening this bottle after tasting the superb Plantation XO last night. El Dorado is darker in color, sweet with a little bitter aftertaste. Not much different than the cheaper 12 year old in my opinion. No match for the Plantation but not bad, either. I'll rate it 8.25
A nice rum with a pleasant smell. I enjoy all my rums neat, but this might be great with a coke, although a bit too expensive for that. A fair price for an interesting sipper I must say.
Simply, fort the price is incredible.
First pour, on the nose you smell some sticky alcool and flavours of a young rum, but let it rest 10/15 minutes and BOOM
is not so complex, but is smooth as fuck
Sweet, almost cognac like and make you wanting more
For me, is a 9.5 only because there is almost non remaining taste in your mouth
Easily in the top 5 rums under 100€
Full nose packed with dark coffee, candied orange, almonds, dark chocolate...
"El Dorado Special Reserve 15-Year rum review by Mike at Ultimate Rum Guide"
Has more oak and chocolate notes.
"It is initially very sweet, apples, bananas and rum soaked raisins but there are also some bittersweet plum like notes. The finish is spicy and fruity and long lasting."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label
