Wow there's a lot going on in this rum.
I get scents of fruit, almost merlot like. Smoke, molasses, honey and a little maple.
The taste profile is very similair.
Crazy smooth with a lot of aftertaste.
Some might find it a bit too sweet and there is a bit of an astringent smell at first but other then that; it's hard to find any other flaws

I've had a few bottles of diplomatico over the years, and it is a very decent mixing rum at a fair price.

It is round and smooth in it's taste but at the same time it is also a bland taste.

If you are looking for a rum to drink straight up you should buy another.

This was for me, as for many people, the first premium rum I've tried. But it was turning point from whisky. As I review it retrospectively it's not even half that good as I thought with first sip, but it has its special place. Too sweet, but ideal if you are starting with rum.

La, on est sur un très bon Diplomatico. Très bon sec ou avec de la glace.

Excellent choice for a sipping rum - perfect with 1 or 2 ice cubes. Flavorful and strong, without much of an alcohol bite.

Eye
Dense, mahogany / brown, dark, long and beautiful tear.

Nose
Little alcohol, molasses, honey, maple syrup, ice cream or cake memories of vanilla, spices, sugar juices, canned fruits amber, coconut syrup memories transport me to the Caribbean.

Taste
Unctuous, certain density, does not burn in your mouth, soft/smooth, sweet, long finish of bitter chocolate, honey, vanilla as the one used for the flan. There is not so much wood in the paladar.

It can be enjoying alone, however in some dessert with cake, coconut ice cream / vanilla or even marinated with good coffee would be fantastic.

Beautiful color with the smell of caramel, vanilla and melted butter.
Oily, sweet and with a long aftertaste of nuts.
