Angostura 1824 12-Year

Every Christmas this rum can be found locally in Ontario liquor stores. This is exceptional neat, well worth the price, delicious in an old fashioned or modified manhattan. I prefer neat at room temperature super smooth and the smell has a smoky sweet scent.

Trinidad rums are not my thing but the Angostura series is very enjoyable.

Paid $59.99 +tx in NYC. Very nice color and pleasant aroma. Surprisingly lighter finish than I expected, very smooth and enjoyable.

molasses. half dry rum.
the sweetness is on a low amount. that´s good. a little bit sweeter than his younger brother 1919.
full aroma. light body. oak, oak and oak, did i say oak?
banana. leather. vanilla. maybe some dark fruits.
7/10 bottles.

Definitely a smooth, complex rum good for sipping. Starts with a mild sweetness, finishes with a bit of a dryer burn that I'm not so sure is completely appealing to my palate. Still a solid rum though.

Nice copper color. Very sweet on the nose but a litlle suprise in mounth where it is a little bit sharper than expected. The after taste is quite long and pleasant. Nice one.

Notes of caramel, coffee and chocolate for this trinidad 12 years. Relatively fresh on the palate with oak taste. A long finish with notes of raisins or prunes
