Very tasty, just some ice will suffice. I like that it's not that sweet and very delicate in the aftertaste.
Definitely taste the barley influence from American whiskey barrels on this. Good but not a must have for me.
If you like whisky and/or bourbon you will most likely like this style of rum. Pretty good as a sipper imo.
To me this Mount Gay tastes like a hybrid between rum and bourbon, and not outstanding in either category. However for something sippible, mixable and a bit different it's an interesting choice (especially if you love bourbon). I wouldn't turn it down, but I won't be buying it again...at $50 I've found several that I much prefer.
Found it too harsh, much prefer eclipse for the price
Lovely specially from a rum shack in Barbados in the sunshine
A nice balanced Bajan nose with a little extra spicy kick to it.
"Sipped the Black Barrel certainly gives some of the oaky notes of a bourbon but also makes the mouth water."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

This is not as good as their XO, but not as expensive either. Definitely has a stronger taste... I enjoy it
