Don Papa Small Batch Rum is produced by the Bleeding Heart Rum Company on the southern island of Negros in the Philippines. The rum is distilled from molasses, then aged for over 7 years in American oak barrels, and lastly charcoal filtered.
The name Don Papa rum was inspired by Papa Isio, a leader of the Philippine revolution against the Spanish who led his island to independence before joining the main revolutionary movement.

Don Papa 7 Y.O. je prémiový rum z filipínského ostrova Negros Occidental. Je destilovaný z nejlepší cukrové třtiny na světě. Zraje 7 let v dubových sudech v podhůří Mount Kanlaon. Don Papa má dlouhou, bohatou texturu a nabízí chuť vanilky, medu a kandovaného ovoce. Závěr je dlouhý a hřejivý.
Ratings go from 1 to 10 amongst our fellow rum drinkers within this site so I wasn’t really sure what to expect.
Pleasantly surprised with my first taste and have to admit I’m really enjoying it.
It hits the tongue with a hot rush that very quickly fades leaving your lips and mouth tingling. Very little burn that leaves a long lingering vanilla taste that then opens up other flavours. Honey and nutmeg .
Not going to mix this with anything, just enjoy it as it comes. It may get a little sickly after a while, but that’s the time to try another offering.

Not so keen on the aroma, reminds me of red leg and lambs, but it tasted lovely and it’s smooth enough to sip and goes well with coke.
Assez vulgaire, des esthers aggressifs pour un % pas si haut et un panel trop peu large de saveurs.
Le mieux qu'on puisse en dire est qu'il "ne dérange pas trop".
Beaucoup de hype et de bruit pour pas grand chose : une estéthique proportionnellement aussi réussie que le rhum est peu interessant.
Nice liquorice on the nose and smooth finish. It is sweet from start to finish.
Un rhum assez sucré, très facile à boire. Plaira facilement.
The provenance tells us Philippine sugar is some of the best in this world but this 7 year old expression simply does not compare to the flor de cana 7 or havana club 7 it's heavily sweetened and a strong spice flavour carries through
Don Papa is a piece of my personal collection.
I prefer to drink this rum mixed in a cocktail.

Ambered spice with a warm vanilla, fruity, citrus nose. Vanilla, toffee and citrus zest continues in the mouth. A single ice cube mellows the medium length of the finish.
