Bacardi Superior Rum is the original Bacardi rum, dating back to 1862 when Don Facundo Bacardi Massó purchased his first rum distillery in Cuba. 150 years later, Bacardi Superior is now manufactured in Puerto Rico, but the recipe remains largely the same.

A unique strain of yeast discovered in the Cuban sugarcane fields is used to produce Bacardi Superior rum. The rum is filtered through charcoal, a process pioneered by Bacardi, before and after it is aged in oak barrels for at least one year.

Well this is a rum for the clueless rum drinker. It is only good as a mixer in chicky drinks. The only thing it lacks is flavor other than that the effect works..

It works for mixers, but that’s about it. It’s not one I dream about.

If there is nothing else then it’s ok with coke or cocktails

Economy rum. Better than college, not for middle age budget.

That's what it's constructed for, after all. No shame in that. After enduring several of these cocktails at a resort using their well rum, I had much better results requesting them made with the Bacardi.

Bacardi Superior is a classic and a staple in the rum industry.

Now I'm not going to rate this as if its supposed to be a sipping rum, because its obviously not. As a mixer, its not that bad. It does have a bite, but for some reason it tastes really good in a Cuba Libre. The bite goes well with the lime. I enjoy this more than their gold. But that said, its a mixer and that's how I rated it.

Had I know that there was such a thing as a sipping rum I would have abandoned this before I turned 45. Thank fully I upgraded to a much better flavor mixing rum Appleton V/X. Sorry Bacardi, life is much better now that I have tasted what sipping rums has to offer.
