Thanks so much for submitting a report. It has been emailed to the Rum Captain and will be actioned shortly.
Not too sweet, not too dry, full-bodied molasses rum. In the department of sweet rums, where Planteray/Plantation is a leader, this one is also an interesting one.
It's like a candy. Juicy, heavy on vanilla and caramel candy. Heavy to the point I'm starting to think, if this level of flavor can come fully naturally? Rum Nation got a nice reputation, so I want to believe it's just an effect of fermentation and 10-years aging.
Nevertheless, it's a good drink, though not the one I would come back to often. But I guess all the rum novice or sweet spirits enjoyers will love it.
Very good, a noticeably dry, rather raw that fruitful and flavorful. It's nice to get back to this one from time to time, but for an Jamaican rum lover like myselft, it's definitely not a go-to rum.
Navy-like, but not that heavy, not that "Jamaican". Very diverse palette, which is probable an effect of really good rum blending. And with the price above 40 euro... quite a winner. Of course you can go for Pusser's Overproof, but this one is just different and slighly, but noticeably better.
**Rich Voyage of Flavors**
This 12-year rum from Foursquare distillery offers a fruity, nutty aroma with hints of oak, caramel, and coconut. The palate reveals sweet, dense notes with chocolate, dark fruits, and a touch of spice, finishing with a subtle salty end.
Tasted at laka lono August 18 2024, back in stock after a sabbath rest.
Appearance: medium honey
Aroma: orange, toffee
Flavor: citrus notes without being too sweet. Vanilla, likeable because it does not taste like extract
Notes: I think the adjuncts here have been managed well. I'm unclear about the quality of the base rum.
Thus is quite nice. I do get hints of plastic but it's not bad. Happy to have tried this.
Polish, flowers and caramel in aroma; caramel, vanilla, polish, grapes and wood in body; caramel tail.
This 12-year rum offers a robust flavor with intense potency. Strong notes balance a slightly sharp edge, ideal for those who appreciate a powerful Jamaican profile.
Typický FS, v podstatě není co dodat. Chutná, i když se mi malinko zdá, že alkohol vyčnívá z těla o něco více než u jiných distributorů nebo u rumů plněných přímo v samotné destilerii FS.
Cognac, citruses, spices, vanilla, polish, oak, pepper, nutmeg in aroma; honey, dark chocolate, cognac, spices, oak, and citruses in body; heating tail.
Vanilla, nutmeg, oak, cream, orange, spices (clove) , honey and pepper in aroma; apricot, vanilla, cognac, spices and tanins, oak, dark chocolate, tropical fruits, honey and pepper in body; smooth tail.
A little strong taste and aroma. Not bad to make a cuba libre
8:On the nose , the first impression is fresh, elegant and complex. A pinch of pepper with the fresh cane juice, fruity with red fruits, indeed a very nice agricole, soon tinged with a tasty woodiness and some medicinal, roasted notes. With aeration, the woody entrusts only what is necessary to the cane, pairing in nice choreography, the rum becomes more roasted, caramelized, with burnt sugar, nutty, there are dried fruits and bourbon touch, grassy with some smoky whiffs.
8,2:On the palate, it is a complex and tasty agricole. The sugar cane is juicy, soft, waxy, woody, with menthol, citrus and red, candied fruits, is resinous, with a hint of roasting and pleasant spiciness. We can notice some iodine later on.
8:The finish is very, by the book, rhum agricole, fresh with candied lime peel, minty, pepper, woody, a bit dry, but very pleasant and round.
Aroma - fresh sugarcane followed by oak, alcohol, and mineral water
Taste - vanilla followed by caramel, butterscotch, fresh sugarcane and a charred oak finish
Technical notes, spices, barrel strenght in aroma; caramel, raisins, chocolate, vanilla, raisins and biting finish of the body; heating molases tail.
Very surprising nose for a non-spiced rum: cinnamon. Like in a barrel of cinnamon bark having some burn. For cinnamon lovers like me. Go grap it!
I guess it's a typical okayish sweet Asian rum. Taste like some sugar was added, but lacks depth of Plantation/Planteray rums. On the other hand it isn't bad, and it served me will in daiquiris and mojitos for my folks that isn't that much into heavy spirits.
