Thanks so much for submitting a report. It has been emailed to the Rum Captain and will be actioned shortly.
While I am still getting into the world od Agricoles, this one left me striving for more.
Rhum à tester, petite surprise de part sa saveur correcte et son boisé.
After opening the bottle and pouring it into a glass, you can smell ripe bananas, grass, a bit of brine, fruit and something like iodine.
The taste is milder than in Sajous. More subdued but consistent with the scent. It is naturally sweet, but somewhere on the tip of the tongue you can feel the brine and something spicy.
This is my second Clarin and definitely not the last. I like it very much.
It has this taste of Plantation, incredibly smooth, but the taste is a tad bland, when you have an XO for instance it's much stronger (it's also double the price...)
Na doporučení kamaráda jsem ochutnal.
Je to sladké, ale tak nějak přiměřeně, aby to chutnalo.
Resumé podle mne se jedná o příjemný rum na klidné večerní popíjení.
Very drinkable, smooth, notes of vanilla/hazelnut, eucalyptus, milk chocolate, and truffle candies. Watery, not oily. Little finish.
Overall rating: 7.8
had drank it in punta cana. now found it in miami beach. as good as it gets for a mixed rum drink which you can’t beat at the beach
great taste. found it at a fantastic price in a florida liquor store. very hard to beat
Forty six percent alcohol by volume. Lots of vanilla on nose. The label says crafted in honour of Norman 'Sailor Jerry' Collins. If my memory serves, I had Sailor Jerry's years ago from bottle that said 47 percent alcohol by volume on label. Also for that older 47 percent version, claimed it was Sailor Jerry's original recipe or based on it. The newer 46 percent version strikes me as sweeter and less complex than the 47 percent version. The 47 percent rum, served neat from the freezer, was my favorite spiced rum. The newer 46 percent version fine served chilled and neat or on the rocks, but has less intricate spice taste and is sweeter than my preference. The 47 percent version was nearly dry!
Forty percent alcohol by volume. Drier than Bumbu Original. Again some vanilla. Simple. Okay sipped neat at room temperature, or chilled or on the rocks.
9,2:On the nose, greatness from the first moment. Complex, smooth, elegant and balanced agricole with sweet sugar cane, red fruits, berries.Just a bit spicy and roasted with gunpowder, floral with geranium, then some tea is here, later turns to black tea.
Aeration brings out more woody notes with resin, nuts, vanilla, there is licorice, some tobacco, leather, pear and some little medicinal touch. After a nice rest, new notes shine bright with pencil shavings, violet, fruits are now candied. Wonderful! 😋👌
9:On the palate, the attack is soft, waxy and fruity with citrus, banana, pear, sugar cane and some tea. Nicely balanced agricole.Becomes woody, spicy with nutmeg and a bit dry, the wood is toasted with vanilla. Becoming more dark and roasted with chocolate, licorice, nuts, a bit bitter with resin and herbal. The sugar cane is caramelized now with stewed yellow fruits, turns into the fruit compote. It is fresh, a bit minty with some coconut and freshly cut grass. Great🙂.
9:The finish is woody, fruity, dry with dried fruits, as the wood is toasted. Sugar cane is sweet and tasty. The end is very fresh and nutty with vanilla, vegetal notes.
Almost perfect 😋👌.Great alcohol integration.
Thoughts: We're really struggling to get excited which is a shame for El Dorado rums. Really light in smell and taste it's a challenge to pull any banging flavours out of it. £27 is too much to pay for this, we'd rather use our money elsewhere.
Rating: 4/10
Smell - green banana, burnt sugar
Taste - light in flavour, spicy wood, vanilla
After Taste - medium length, caramel butteriness
It is big surprise for me it is here. I have never noticed the rum is in it. It is a great liqueur though. Strong coffee taste and sweet of course. I use to drink it in White Russian:
teaspoon of instant coffee, 5cl Kahlúa, 5cl vodka, on the rocks, whipped cream :)
Drinking it neat is also good.
8,1/10
Bottle label is traditional with a good label. Nose is fair as far as hogo. I bought this(cheaper) than Dorley's at TW. Way better than Dorley's. Not bad for the liquor cabinet. Worth a try.
35 percent alcohol by volume. Some vanilla, spice. Not much complexity, but okay to sip neat chilled or on ice, or in a cold mixed drink. A bit too sweet for my taste.
Tasted September 1 2024 at Laka Lono
Appearance: clear
Aroma: bread, raisins
Flavor: sourdough, raisin bread, heat
Notes: this rum can be smelled a yard away. A hot rum that would not mix well, it should be enjoyed by itself while holding a thick slice of warm buttered bread.
Tasted at Laka Lono on 9-1-24. Pours clear. HUGE aroma from miles away of cachaca dough and tomato paste. Similar to Paranubes. Salty fishy flavor- metallic. First tip of tongue taste is sweet. High heat, but not unpleasant. Mildly parching bitter bite to the finish.
7,5:On the nose, the first impression we get is roasted and very alcoholic. It needs time to settle a bit when we notice dried fruits, nuts, cocoa and medicinal notes, that linger from our first impression. We are going towards meaty, resinous, sap notes, through come finally real Bajan notes with bourbon yellow fruits, woodiness, butterscotch, some tropical fruits, citrus and sweet spices, perhaps some coconut. But just for a while, when weird umami/Maggi notes cover that temporary deliciousness. We are currently on the dark side... Chocolate and nougat come much later, after resting. Wild, uncontrollable nose.
7,2:On the palate, the first attack is very opposite of the nose, as it is light and dry with citrus, dried currants, yellow fruits, toasted wood and dried fruits, some spices, mixed with some roasted, medicinal, burnt notes. It becomes quite tanninic. Not very Bajan right now. Luckily some bourbon, overripe fruits join to neutralize quite unpleasant tannins. As we are hit by resinous, meaty/umami notes, as on the nose, but they are not very tempting. Finally we come to more Bajan side with coconut, vanilla, warm baking spices, fruits, caramelized with confectionery and some musty/ashy notes... Again, wild, wild West...
7,5:The finish is tastier, long, at first very dry and woody with dried fruits, the wood becomes tastier, toasted, also the coconut with some caramel and warm with sweet spices.
Not worthy very much, expected much more, very wild with unpleasant edges.... Needs long rest for taming.

Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label
