This was flavorful and smooth. It was a very unique flavor. Definitely something i would suggest
Solid backbone of the rum, but the sherry is very pronounced in this, about as much as the vermouth cask. It definitely makes it lean sweeter, but the complexity and oxidation is there to balance it out.
Dette var den 3 rom vi fik på en dejlig aften.
Denne rom har først ligget på alm. bourbon fade er derefter hældt over på sherry fade.
Der tydelige noter af noget blødt og måske lidt karamel.
I would not consider this to be as good as Dos Maderas or Abuelo - both of whom seem to have refined the art of making rum from sherry casks. It's rich and full, as you'd expect and there is a fair bit of fruit and leather in it. The sherry is there on the aftertaste but not really much in the smell or taste.
The overall feel is not far from Bajan style (think Doorly's). Lovely, welcoming nose with citrus fruits, elderberry flowers, vanilla, white oak, the taste is spicy but smooth, starting honey sweet, continues with fruits and wood, turns to sweet chilli, but without sugar, the aftertaste contains citrus fruits with pronounced grapefruit, wood, and a hint of sweet cherry jam, quite long. Not bad for some 5-8y of age. Don Q did it again - well crafted, honest rum. For lower price it would get even higher score from me.
Great sweet flavors. Mellow and easy to drink. Fruit flavors with a hint of spice. A good way to mix it up.
It’s a sweet, perfumed nose with lots of juicy fruits and some really floral notes.
"The finish is a good length- nice fade of the sweet notes which rubs alongside the wonderful spicy notes from the oak ageing. It’s long lasting and leaves a really nice flavour in the mouth."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Light sweet nose. Light and fruity taste, slightly leathery with almonds. Very short finish with almost no spice - which makes it quite unique. Leaves a dry aftertaste which isn’t my favorite but I can see some liking a lot. My wife calls it easy to drink, I see why - comparable to rums aged 10-12 yrs.
