Don Q Reserva De La Familia Serralles 20-Year

Well I just tried my most expensive rum ever yesterday in Las Vegas Bellagio ( No what happened in LV is now being shared :) For the price I would expect nothing less from this delicious not too sweet very smooth aged rum. Unfortunately for me I was being rushed by my better half and did not get a full chance to fully get all the notes on the nose or mouth. Very sad. I don't know when I will get a chance to taste this again unless I win big at the craps tables.

Had the luxury of attending a Don Q tasting event at our local Tiki bar. A representative from Don Q came a long to share the bottle's lore. It made for a excellent memory.

This rum is smooth, and deep. Butterscotch and oak come along with light fruit and raisin. Everything was perfectly balanced, which was a pleasant surprise for Rum being in the barrel for so long.

Would I buy a bottle if I could find one and afford it. No. I am so glad I got the chance to taste this bottle.

$1800 bottle so I found a restaurant that let me get 1oz for $50....outcome, yeah it’s really good, very smooth, deep caramel notes, worth $2k if you have it lying around otherwise if you want luxury Puertorriqueño rum and you’re a working Joe Facundo Exquisito is pretty damn good at around $120
