This rum I try in Bolivia. Very good evening before night bus trip
Good rum, but there is nothing "extra" in it. I dont even remember its taste. This rum has no "signature" for me. But very drinkable.
Santa Teresa is right up my alley. This is a deep and satisfying sipping rum. Aromas of cedar and oak and quite a bit of medicinal notes up front. On the dry side which is good for me yet it still speaks rum with candied orange and molasas cookies. The second pour brings brownies and vanilla. But its not even close to being a sugar bomb.
At the $40 mark it's a simple presentation and thats another plus for me. A fancy bottle is fun to look at but it's whats inside that counts and I will happily count out 40 bucks for this nectar. Eye candy not needed.
Starts out with a nice oaky taste but ends off with a water taste
For this price is the
is a very good rum, drink smoothly and had a very nice aftertaste.
I am partial to sweet rums, and even if this is not a very sweet rum, is has a smoothness that makes it an easy sipper. Particularly when one lets it stand for a while before tasting. By all means recommended. A pity to mix or dilute this.
The Rum Barrel Review
"On the nose there’s a lovely dark profile. Fresh ground coffee, dark chocolate, caramel, vanilla, plums. There are some tropical fruits like pineapple and passion fruit, followed by a slight grassy note. Nutmeg, old leather, tobacco and white pepper. On the palate it goes down so easy. Milk chocolate, vanilla, honey, mango, toffee and cashews. Canned pineapple, blackcurrant, coconut cream and coca cola. The tobacco note is back along with some cinnamon. Not crazy sweet, fairly well balanced and easy going. Cocoa butter and orange marmalade. Towards the end is where you get a bit more oak spices and some alcohol heat. The finish is short with cocoa nibs, some oak tannins and maple syrup."
Has a nice light sweet vanilla note.
"Spicy notes and a oaky lavour are very pleasant and not overpowering."

While not my favorite sipper, it has its merits. Not as sweet as some I prefer, but enjoyable nonetheless.
