Santa Teresa 1796 rum is produced in Venezuela and aged using the solera system that blends rums aged between 4 and 35 years. Before bottling, the rum is aged for a further year in large French oak casks to marry the blends.
This rum was first created in 1996 to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the establishment of the distillery, the Santa Teresa Hacienda.

Nothing special, expectations were much higher, but itโs a pity....
I thought it didnt have a great taste super boosey
I tried this rum some while ago, I was not impressed then but today I tried it for the second time. It starts of quite soft, with a firm burn afterwards. Some slight sweetness but very subtile. There are some oak and a bit of spices tones around.
Its okay but I prefer some other rums instead, the More zips I take the less interesting it gets.
I like this one as a sipper. Put in a couple of ice cubes and sip it. Nice easy drinking rum. This is good like Diplomatico Exclusiva and Flora de Cana 12 or 18 year. These are all nice balanced enjoyable sipping rums under 50 dollar range.
A great tasting rum for the price. Best served neat over ice. Itโs very smooth and has a slightly spiced taste. Would highly recommend.
Balanced and clean with a light body. Quite easy drinking.
A solid value with a subtle nose and a mid-complex finish that isn't too sweet but also isn't too ethanol-driven. It's basically the more subtle, less sweet oak-driven version of the fellow Venezuelan Diplomaticos. Nothing blows you away but nothing is wrong either - which is what I'd consider "balanced". I appreciate the low sugar content (4g/L).
Nice rum, sweet, got too much ethanol flavor. Would I buy it again, probs not.
Nice, fairly smooth rum. A bit of a spicy flavor, but not too much.
The Rum Barrel Review
"On the nose thereโs a lovely dark profile. Fresh ground coffee, dark chocolate, caramel, vanilla, plums. There are some tropical fruits like pineapple and passion fruit, followed by a slight grassy note. Nutmeg, old leather, tobacco and white pepper. On the palate it goes down so easy. Milk chocolate, vanilla, honey, mango, toffee and cashews. Canned pineapple, blackcurrant, coconut cream and coca cola. The tobacco note is back along with some cinnamon. Not crazy sweet, fairly well balanced and easy going. Cocoa butter and orange marmalade. Towards the end is where you get a bit more oak spices and some alcohol heat. The finish is short with cocoa nibs, some oak tannins and maple syrup."
Has a nice light sweet vanilla note.
"Spicy notes and a oaky lavour are very pleasant and not overpowering."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label
