Ron Zacapa XO Rum is produced in the highlands of Guatemala where it is distillled from fresh cane juice. The rum is then aged from 6 to 23 years at 7544 feet above sea level at 62 °F (17 °C) using the solera process. The solera aging process incorporates barrels that previously held American whiskeys, sherries, wines and Cognac
The unique Ron Zacapa XO glass decantur features an impression of a woven band around the middle, which is in reference to the original hand woven palm leaf petate bottle cover that covered the bottle

Big brother of the Solera 23. Not sure the jump in quality justifies the jump in price, but certainly a nice rum. A bit less sweet than the Solera 23, more complex taste and subtle flavours.
I just have the impression, that the older versions where a tad better.
You Need to taste the old rum (bottles before 2013) the Company was sold, and now it has a Commercial taste, available on alle Airports of the world. it's a pitty, but still great, complex.
Lots of flavours, incredibly smooth. Hardly any burn at all, my favourite sweet/sugared rum.
Would have loved to try it without the added sugar, as I believe the rum could actually be good!
Can't really add much to what's been said before. It's a high quality sipping rum that is a joy to savour.
This is a great rum. Smooth, not too sweet and still has a good kick.
Have tried various caribean rums and can't find anything near as good.
Very nice Amber Colour. Smell of caramel banana and vanilla. Open 5/10 min before drinking Very smooth when you drink it and then becomes really balanced and complex. Small notes of spices on the finish

If you already like the Ron Zacapa 23 Solera or Black Label, you will definitely enjoy this one. Even if you didn't, you will probably enjoy the Ron Zacapa XO.
Among the best in my book, sweet and smooth with a lasting taste. Worth every penny.
