Ron Zacapa XO Rum is produced in the highlands of Guatemala where it is distillled from fresh cane juice. The rum is then aged from 6 to 23 years at 7544 feet above sea level at 62 °F (17 °C) using the solera process. The solera aging process incorporates barrels that previously held American whiskeys, sherries, wines and Cognac
The unique Ron Zacapa XO glass decantur features an impression of a woven band around the middle, which is in reference to the original hand woven palm leaf petate bottle cover that covered the bottle

I honestly don't know why people are giving Ran Zacapa XO the high scores. It is very sweet.
The nose is nice with black sugar maple syrup and raisins, bu the tasting notes of...sugar and syrup are just overpowering. It is extremely mild with regards to heat. I think I'll put it on my pancakes.
I'd recommend the old Mount Gay XO if you can get it, Clement XO is nice too, or Rhum J.M. XO, which is likely my personal favorite so far.
Fancy bottle. Enjoyable but not sure if worth the price tag. I'll probably buy it again
This is my number one rum of all time. The price is expensive for a bottle but this is pure craftsmanship. It just does not get any better than this rum!
Fantastic rum. Nice dark rich amber color. Mild aroma of vanilla and raisin. Smooth taste. A tiny tiny bit bit too sweet. Close to a 10 but I cannot do it. Hate to harp on the price but is my money after all and I would rather by a bottle of Zafra 21 and bank the extra $40+ $$$. Don't get me wrong this is a very good rum but for the price others can match it or come really really close at a better price.
Bursting with smooth chocolate flavours, raisins lasting in the tongue and the molasses providing a tasty but not over powering basis.
Hermosa botella, un ron muy completo, si gusta el dulce. El cuerpo es soberbio y no decepciona
Great presentation. Beautiful bottle. Nose is strong with vanilla and oak. Beautiful color. Clean opening taste with good viscosity and mouth feel. No burn at all. Fills the pallet. Slightly sweet. It evolves quickly with nutmeg, almond and butter as it slides across the tongue. Nice long finish. Not overly complex but distinctly tasteful. No bite. Very smooth. Best Guatemalan rum I have tried. I find Guatemalan runs to be dusty with too much oak and burnt molasses. This one shines.

It is rich with coffee notes and a little tobacco.

Very smooth, could easily drain the bottle at once :D
