Guatemala | Aged | 40% ABV | Column Still (1-4)
Ron Zacapa 23 Solera Rum was created in 1976 in the highlands of Guatemala, where it is distilled in a copper-lined column still from fresh cane juice before solera aging.
The 500 year-old Spanish Sistema Solera method is used to age Ron Zacapa 23 in white oak casks. This results in a combination of rums aged between 6 and 23 years.
The current Ron Zacapa 23 bottle features a woven band around the middle, which is in reference to the original hand woven palm leaf petate bottle cover that covered the bottle.

Zacapa is something you would love on a special occasion without ruining your budget. Extremely smooth and has a very nice finish. Could be slightly too sweet for some though.
I like the Zacapa a lot but you have similar rums for a cheaper price (El Dorado for example) if you ask me.
Zacapa Solera 23 is truely the reference rhum. It has a nice body, it has a silky texture, and a very sweet taste. (brown sugar, caramel, a hint of cooking spices).
This one opened my eyes to what a truly great experience rum can be! Sipped slowly, the Zacapa 23 was smooth, flavorful, and full of body. The sting was light on the back of my throat and the burn was warm and very soothing. Sweet, but not overly so. Highly recommended!
Juste un petit délice ! A déguster de toute urgence.
This rum is sweet and smooth in the mouth, but lacks depth and complexity of flavour. I was a little disappointed.
One of my top 5 rums. It has a powerful start and smooth finish. The bottling is fantastic. Feels like it was dug from the sands of a Caribbean island.
Not complex and the flavor that is there doesn't stay around very long. XO is far better and I would go for lots of other rums in my cabinet before I go for this. An ice sphere makes this drink come alive but don't let it dilute too much or it will start to become nothingness
Un peu déçu lors de ma première dégustation par rapport aux commentaires lus. Mais excellent rhum tout de même. A recommander
Actually quite dry and oaky.
"Flavour builds if you leave the rum in your mouth for a little longer allowing it to coat the palate."
Wonderfully intricate with honeyed butterscotch, spiced oak and raisined fruit...

Decanted, the rum displays a surprising body in the glass for something so apparently light, and has slow and strong legs down the side of the glass.

The Ron Zacapa 23 was the second rum that i tastet. Nice rum. The flavor is deep and balanced.I like Ron Zacapa 23 but not as much as Dictador or Diplomatico.
