Enjoyable, not so sweet, a dash of caramel, easy going
Duft af abrikos og sød. Smag af honning, frugt og fad. Æble. Lidt for meget frugt til mig og en lille smule kedelig uden at være rigtig dårlig. (7. december 2020 i 1423) Opdateret 2022: Banan i duft. Fermenteret. Sur. Smag af æble igen, lidt røg/bål, frugtig. For fermenteret til 6. Sættes ned til 5 (5. December 2022 i 1423)
Nosing -
Ripe bananas , tipex and nail polish
Tasting
Fruity front pallette mixed with the nail polish .
Mango juice
I mean, I was trying four different bottles of Cane Island at the same time, and this one lasted the longest. Its young, so light and a bit fruity without the caramels and deep wood of other rums. Also my first Australian rum, besides Bundaberg, so winning there! Pear fading to leather with an apricot acetone finish.
Drank this rum as a part of the green rum box. Tried it neat, like all of the rums from the box, but it was a mistake with this one.
this is my 5th cane island and i have yet to enjoy one except with cola. It's cheap and there are many out there that distinguish themselves way beyond the cane island brand. check out the rankings....there is something like 18 rums with 3 being rated over 7: Nicaragua, Barbados and a blend that scores an “8”. those are the 3 I would stick with.
Aroma - fresh pear followed by orange peels.
Taste - pear cobbler followed by sweet oranges, oak, and then a fresh pear finish.
First off, my rating is a 5.5 out of 10, I can't select that option though so I chose 5 on this website. So I've always been curious about Australian rums and I saw this one at Total Wine on sale for $17 and decided to grab it. The flavor is unlike any I've ever had in a rum before and quite different. Mainly in a good way, like a warm pear cobbler. I am definitely interested in trying more rums from the Beenleigh distillery in Australia. This one is a bargain at $17 and a maybe for the original price of $25 if you like what I described in my tasting notes.
Cane Island Australia rum
Score 6
duft: spiritus overdøvet duften, let sødme bagvedliggende.
Smag: starter sødt og let krydder, der er en del fad smag.
Duft: banan, fad, let farmatering.
Smag: bål/røg, syr, frugt, smager bedre end den dufter
Point: 5
Tasted on 12/31/23 thanks to Admiral Bill. Pours a rich golden amber color. Nice butterscotch aroma. Flavor has a bit of rubber band, but it is not off putting. Nice medium palate sweetness and an easy drinker. I like the buttery flavors that meld with the caramel. Pretty good rum. I could drink this regularly. Thanks Bill!
