United States | Gold | 40% ABV

Bacardi Gold rum is manufactured in Puerto Rico where it is distilled from fermented molasses. It is then filtered through charcoal and aged in charred oak barrels for between 1 and 2 years. Unlike Bacardi Superior, Bacardi Gold is only filtered once.

Bacardi's official logo, a fruit bat, dates to 1862 when founder Don Facundo Bacardi found fruit bats living in rafters of the building he bought to house the distillery. Bats are considered an omen of good luck in Cuba and have emblazoned Bacardi rum bottles ever since.

Tasting: 25ml, Neat.

Glass: Denver & Liely Whisky Glass.

Nose: Strong and extremely punchy alcohol.

Palate: Medium body with pleasant sweetness.
No particular tropical fruits nor spices have been noticed.

Finish: Short aftertaste, lack of complexity .

Pairing: Goes well with seafood, especially sashimi or grilled salmon.

Comment: Nice and easy drink to pair with many kinds of food.
Surely great for mixers and cocktails.

I was desperate and the only rum around was Bacardi Gold. I had low expectations and it lived up to them. I'm a rocks sipper and this is not acceptable. Harsh and a taste not to my liking. I do include price as a factor so it bumps it up to a 5 but that's it. Don't try it on the rocks.

All the burn with none of the flavor. My first attempt at trying rum and I went for a brand I recognized. Led me to believe I disliked rum but now after trying multiple more quality competitors realized this rum just sucks! Not great for use in cocktails. Not great to sip on its own. It will get you buzzed but wont taste good while its doing it.

Bottle purchased at a grocery store near you. I usually pay $18 for a handy. Rich gold color. Banana aroma. Benchmark flavor of rum honey sweetness. Finishes thin and unobtrusive. I’m not a hater of this working man’s rum.

Kinds of reminds me of Ricola honey and eucalyptus cough drops and it pretty much ends there. Harsh. What flavor there is, is drowned out by the harshness. I actually am now in the mood for some Ricola. Will need to buy some to get rid of this taste. Happy that I spent only $2 on a 50ml but even that may have been too much.

A cheap rum from a solid brand. You won't get anything remotely special out of Bacardi Gold, but that's ok. It's a solid enough rum.

Was my regular everyday mixing rum with a Coke for many years. More flavorful than a standard Bacardi Superior or what not. Price point was okay. Not much more to say than that.

I have found Flor de Cana 4 year to be much better for similar drinking purposes but I have yet to finish my other two bottles of Bacardi Gold that have been sitting on the shelf.

Un basique intéressant pour les coktails nécessitant un rhum gold. Bon pour la pina colada.

I used to drink it with ginger ale. It tastes old, but not in a good way.
