United States | Gold | 40% ABV
Bacardi Gold rum is manufactured in Puerto Rico where it is distilled from fermented molasses. It is then filtered through charcoal and aged in charred oak barrels for between 1 and 2 years. Unlike Bacardi Superior, Bacardi Gold is only filtered once.
Bacardi's official logo, a fruit bat, dates to 1862 when founder Don Facundo Bacardi found fruit bats living in rafters of the building he bought to house the distillery. Bats are considered an omen of good luck in Cuba and have emblazoned Bacardi rum bottles ever since.

This is about the same level as normal Bacardi the taste is passable but not one I would look to buy .
I cannot imagine taking this neat. It's cheap, so at least it has that going for it. The only problem is that it adds a horrible gasoline like flavour even to mixes. You can have a double of something very slightly more expensive (assuming you know what you're buying) and it will go down smoother than a single out this with the same amount of mixer. The rum should make the mixer taste better, and this does the opposite.
It's not as bad as some people here make it out to be, that's for sure. If you think this is the very bottom of rums then you haven't had the cheap rums I've been having. You are probably better off with Morgan Gold (which has really nailed this kind of rum at this price point) but this is not a big step down. The aroma is very alcohol-forward, and the flavor unfortunately follows suit. That being said, it is relatively smooth and still has its own distinct spicy flavor, keeping it from feeling like a bottle of brown ethanol. The elegant-looking bottle makes it look pricier than it is, and if you're looking for something more straightforward than the spiced selection on the market at the same low price, then this can do as a good mixer and barely decent sipper.
It's cheap and you can get it in a handle and mix it all day.
This is a good basic gold rum for mixing... it's my everyday go to.
While helping my elderly parents move, there was a bottle in their liquor cabinet. It was better than I thought it would be (no, not a resounding endorsement), but free likely helped. Went straight to mixing, and did not waste time with sipping it.
Love this in my rum and cokes very affordable and good tasting
Only if your giving to inexperienced drinkers who want cheap stuff to mix. This is not for a serious rum drinker to consider
