Excellent vanilla odor. Good color. No overpowering alcohol taste, no burn. Good straight or with ice
Linda botella (la nueva edición). Color caoba precioso.

Solid performance from the manufacturer.
The smell is amazing, I love this fruity sweet aromas. It reminds me of Zacapa.
I can tell you, this is a good rum for small money. I think the most Zacapase are based on rums like Ron Botran 15 and Ron Botran 1893.
I have the old bottle, what a beauty for just 28€.
A fresh bottle is not that aromatic and has too much wood aroma. But after some months the rum gets better with oxygen in the bottle.
Smell: Caramel, herbs, fruits (mandarine), dried fruits (plum), some wood, vanilla, lard (very nicely balanced, not too sweet)
Taste: mandarine, caramel, herbs, burned sugar, toasted barrel (wood), nutmeg, spice.
Finish: earth/cask, spice, wood, bitterness
Aftertaste: typical sherry aftertaste, cherry compote, orange
Country: Guatemala
Place: Quetzaltenango
Barrel: American white oak, whiskey, pot and sherry wine barrels
Material: Virgin Cane Honey
Age: 5-18
Sweetness: 1.5/5

Value (27€): 4.5/5
Decent bottle, nice light brown color, toffee aroma. Dry rum (obviously very low if added sugar) but very pleasant and smooth taste, hints of coffee and oak, long aftertaste. It is a must for lovers of dry rums, definitely one of my best sipping rums.
kidding, but i like this. it has the bite of a higher proof rum with the softer finish of the lower proof overly sweetened rums. has a nice long lingering finish like a good bourbon. i like the solera style and this is no exception. i will buy a bottle next time Im at my local.
De los mejores rones calidad/ precio. Por 25 dolares tienes un buen ron de 18 anos, que me saben a 15, pero con un muy buen sabor y cantidad ya que la mayoria son de 1 litro. Lo compraria para cualquier reunion.
Quite sweet with some strong notes of smoke and tobacco leaf. .
"It’s much spicier on the palate than the nose. It has a very nice bourbon like sweetness in the mid palate which is as nice as it is surprising."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label
