Like most cachaca, this one is not nearly as smooth as your aged rum.
It's flavors exceed Leblon, its nearest competitor in middle America, but it also has a lot of chemical taste.
Add it to your collection more for the unique bottle than for the spirit.
its amazing how much different this wood is. Complete anise bomb, almost in the level of an absinthe.
I was very reluctant to try this one based upon the description on their website. However, since it is the only one from them that I have not tried, I figured what the heck.
The citrus type bitterness is very subtle. The website makes it sound like the bitterness dominates. To my pleasant surprise, I wound up liking it, but not nearly as much as their Amburana and Oak. This one can be sipped neat and would also go great with lime and sugar to make a unique caipirinha. As a matter of fact, this one makes one of the most unique and tasty caipirinhas that I have ever tried. And no damn hangover the next day!!!!

This is an interesting sipper cachaça aged in balsamo wood. It’s quite dry and with a hint of bitterness I suppose from the South American wood. I’m quite fond of it as an interesting and cerebral sipper. Don’t make a caipirinha with it as the subtleties disappear.
