Mellow, mellow, mellow.
Outstanding cachaça that is a must try.
The Nose: pineapple, apple and spice.
The palate stays true with a wonderful banana flavor.
For those who may have a hard opinion regarding "água-benta", give this one a try and note how your eyebrows will raise in delight.
There is a subtle floralflavor to it all, smoother than many and mellow.
Despite being aged for up to two years in Jequitiba Rosa wooden casks, this one is clear colored and tastes like it has barely any aging. After reading descriptions from their website on this one months ago, I did not think that I would like it. Oh well, there goes another $56. It is simply not worth the extra money over their much cheaper Prata. It cannot even compare with their Amburana, which is in a class all by itself. Their Tapinhoa tastes like a premium tequila anejo and not like a rum at all.
With it's pink label, it is obviously marketed towards women, but the taste is anything but feminine. The only thing that mixes with it is mango nectar. I have lowered my initial rating of 6 down to a 5 and I will never buy this one again. This is clearly the worst from Avua, but I give them credit for trying.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Avua is one of my favorite cachaça brands, and to me, his falls right in the middle of their lineup - below the Amburana and Tapinhoa, but above the Oak and Prata.
If I liked cachaça more I'd rate this a lot higher as it is one of the better cachacas out there, but that's not my favorite style.
Definitely a good cachaça, however, and worth it if you like the style.
