Pyrat XO Rum is produced from nine different Caribbean rums that are blended and then aged up to 15 years in used American sweet oak barrels.
The squat Pyrat XO rum bottle shape is inspired by the typical design of rum bottles kept by pirates and ship captains in the 19th century.

Great bottle design. Lovely smooth taste and perfect for a long drink.
Wonderful golden rum aroma that just doesn't deliver. Harsh burn made it almost impossible to drink neat. Price makes it really too expensive to make cocktails.
You can drink it straight if you're feeling classy or mix it with Coke, but this shit will fuck you up either way. It's a quality rum that's worth the premium cost!
Has a slight orangey taste....which I personally like as I like oranges. This is a light rum and can be addictive. Is it a top flight rum? No..but it's good to keep Pyrat around the house just to have as a "house rum". Pricing for this rum is a real plus. Just bought another bottle.
Was expecting more caramel out this supposedly sweet rum. Got mouth full of orange and peach. Really good if you like oranges but if you prefer your rums with vanilas and caramel stay away.
It has a floury and strong flavour, not too sweet, overall a bit too dense for me.
This rum has a back bite I have noticed in recent bottles. It normally has a buttery smoothness and finish but it seems to have a bad bite and artificial taste to it.
"Had wine not been the drink of choice 2,000 or so years ago, Jesus would have probably turned every drop of water on earth into Pyrat Rum XO Reserve"

"it’s like an orange Chuck Norris came through the joint, belted out a roundhouse kick to the face..."

A very definite hit of oranges.
"The orange taste is very much at the forefront and the burn leaves behind a bitter tang of orange peel."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

A tough one to rate. Enjoyable on its own, but I actually prefer to mix this one. It's smooth but not full of flavour
