Pyrat XO Reserve

One of the sweetest rums I tasted. Tastes fruity and is perfect if you like it sweet and juicy. Not interesting if you like it smokey and traditionell. Not exactly my type.

Sorry, I don't like the orange taste. Maybe as a shooter but not as a relax by the fire drink.

Like my Ron Prohibido, I like this bottle shape. Caramel color. I don't like the nose (a bit alcohol-y) but the taste is smooth (although not as much so as a Zaya Gran Reserva) and mid-level sweet. A bit of a burn from the first sip, but it settles down after that. Hints of vanilla. $17.99 at a local retailer.

I like this rum, but drink it no too often it's may be with in my top 20.

This citrus rum is great in a Rum and coke. its liek a orange and nectarine made love in your mouth with the wonderful fizz of coke to washdown the yummy

Needs to rest in glass for some time to get rid of some artificially smelling vapors. Nose is orange peel dominant, cannot reach underneath this overwhelming orange, which continues with the taste.

I know that this one is a love it or hate it for most. I love it. I like it best mixed with Coke or juice, really makes for a nice end to the day, and not overly expensive. And a fun bottle to boot? I always keep it on hand.

The Pyrat Rum is made /distributed by the Patron company. The glass work on the bottle is wonderful, and looking at the bottle you can see the similarity to the Patron tequila bottles. The rum is light orange in color, and has a strong aroma of orange. The rum is very simple and leaves a strong orange taste in the mouth. Personal I dislike this rum, it is extremely simple in flavor with no complexity.
