Pyrat XO Reserve

Every once in a while its good to return to this one. The fruitiness is really typical for Pyrat.

A little pricy for me given that there are less expensive rums I enjoyed more. Still worth a look though if you like the 'sweeter side' of life.

It have a very strong orange and taste in the nose and mouth. I realy like the sweetness, the bottle and the color. But for me it's to mutch orange. Still it is one of the better rums i had. I will give the pyrat a other chance because my girlfriend brought me a bottle of it from a trip.

Goût Malabar, peu d'intérêt. Aucun rétro, écoeurant rien d'impressionnant pour un XO.

Sweet, more than a hint of orange. Seems like dividing opinions a lot and I don't wonder as my opinion seemed to change on every sip. Ending with a positive one but definitely not making final decision after only 4cl. Definitely worth testing if you encounter this rum!

That's honestly the best part. The rum is way too sweet for me to classify as great. It would be a good mixer, but who wants to mix a $50 bottle of rum? That's for cheaper stuff. I've been trying it with a few things around the house (bitters, lime juice, etc.) and haven't hit quite the right mix yet to lessen the candy sweetness.

I quite enjoy sipping Pyrat. It is very smooth, with slight--but not overpowering--citrus notes.

I was not expecting this from previous comments.
In smell and in taste I found some strong flavors of lemon and orange.
Very interesting for one glass but I would not buy a bottle though.
