Pyrat XO Rum is produced from nine different Caribbean rums that are blended and then aged up to 15 years in used American sweet oak barrels.
The squat Pyrat XO rum bottle shape is inspired by the typical design of rum bottles kept by pirates and ship captains in the 19th century.

First tasted this rum at Trader Sams at the Disneyland hotel it was mixed with their house juice and it had a great taste.
V tomhle případě platí, že obal je lepší než vnitřek.
Jako rum by tak špatný nebyl, kdyby tam nebylo tolik pomeranče. Ten to všechno pokazil.
Even every day :) was added to my favorites. Nice bottle, the medal is funny.
Amber color in the glass belies orange on the nose, followed by more orange on the tongue, with complex citrus notes rolling over the tongue. Finish is surprisingly dry. The package is extravagant, blown glass decanter with a Pyrat medal. Unique but not my favorite.
This was of my first rums on June 18, 2018. Will need to try again.
A little too much orange & much better as a mixer than straight up or on the rocks. Great bottle though! Not the best, but far from the worst...
I really wanted to like this one. Too orangy and sweet, tastes great with a wee bit of coke though.
With all the little medals and orange ribbons I have, it's obvious that Pyrat one is one of my Favs. Made in the "French Style" , to me this is a sipper. If you absolutely have to fizz just a splash of ginger ale or seltzer, no lime or cola. Mouth feel and texture is very similar to VS cognac as is the flavor. Well balanced with little burn or sickly flavors the only thing I have against it is the bottle shape. I would hate to bartend with it. Luckily it comes in a .375.
I'm really disappointed, maybe even pissed, because the actual rum behind the wall of added flavour must be great. Too bad someone dropped a whole bag of vanilla and orange peel in the batch. Even after a while in the snifter is the predominant scent and taste. Even in another glass it won't go away. If you really like those two just go for it. I'll wait to hear that they changed their mind and maybe discovered that they have a pretty good rum that doesn't need any additional flavours.

A very definite hit of oranges.
"The orange taste is very much at the forefront and the burn leaves behind a bitter tang of orange peel."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

By accident tried it chilled. It's like another rum. No spirit taste, just smooth orange. It must be drinked only with ice cubes
