A very good everyday Rum with the focus on sweetness (cinnamon,Caramel,brown Sugar) with some orange-y undertones.
It comes at a great Price too, which makes it a great target for Rum beginners who might not wanna spend big money on a Rum they might not like.

Hezky zabalený levný rum, který nikoho neurazí, i když asi ani vyloženě neuchvátí. Vůně i chuť jsou univerzálně uspokojivé a nevlezlé, kulatá flaška v koženém pytlíku velmi příjemná do ruky.
Za obvyklou cenu kolem pětistovky v hypermarketech bývalo těžko najít něco efektivnějšího; v roce 2021 už ale mnohde stává přes 800 a za ty prachy opravdu nestojí. I přesto, že jde o jediný rum italské provenience, který jsem si koupil víc než jednou a jediný ze všech taliánských, které jsem pil (včetně těch dvojnásobně drahých), který mi vcelku chutnal.
Pokud ho ale koupíte levně (což se v únoru 2021 kupodivu pořád ještě občas dá), jde IMHO o druhý nejlepší rum pod 500 Kč po Plantation Barbados Grande Reserve.

Nově se ale láhev prodává nahatá, čímž velmi výrazně pozbývá na pamperském půvabu. Úplně nejnověji pak bývá kožený pytlík nahrazen nějakým eko-bio-vegano hajzlpapírem vzdáleně imitujícím kůži. Ježto lze předpokládat, že aktivističtí nácíčci si tuhle sračku, plně poplatnou stávající zbuzerantštělé době, už brzy vynutí jako jedinou, která se bude smět prodávat, odečtěte si pak z hodnocení jednu až dvě hvězdičky.

It is complex...It is not your regular rum by any measure. The great and welcoming aroma is as unique as the leather bag it comes covered in.

It really adds a different take on the rum experience, which is why it is in my collection at all times. It swings and breaks the mold of the other rums by its sophisticated and unique taste. About the only one I can say is around this area in uniqueness as some of the Appleton Estate(s). Have not yet found the "Reserve Exclusiva" but I have my eye on it to see if it becomes mandatory in the collection as this is.

At first sip I expected it to be sweeter and more viscous based on the nose and color. The initial taste is some leathery tobacco that I didn't expect but not in an overpowering or negative way. There's some delicious sweet vanilla, brown sugar flavor that I really enjoy that layers itself over the dry flavors from the beginning. It's buttery and nutty while not being to heavy. Last night I was drinking El Dorado 15 which is a much more sugary and viscous rum and tonight my first ever taste of Pampero. While less sweet, it still stood up to that sugar bomb but without having nearly as much sugar added to it. (ED 15 has about 35g/L while Pampero has about 12g/L). Really nice balance of sweet and dry that I have been looking for in a rum. There is a base flavor that reminds me of other great oaky rums followed by a unique nutty vanilla cake flavor. It's just so good and definitely up there with the best I've had yet. Go get some!
Update: just wanted to mention that it does have some bite in the finish and its not the absolute smoothest rum ive had but the flavors are just so good that I don't mind a little burn to go with it . Still really well balanced and awesome. Update 2: I must say that this rum is best enjoyed NEAT! I've noticed that if I add ice or water to it then it actually becomes worse and the flavor becomes more bitter and much less enjoyable. I can tell now that the added sugar definitely benefits this rum which appears older than it actually is. You may have some difficulty when initially switching back to drinking unsugared rums. Still great for sipping.

Comes with a fruity nose with a slight aroma of vanilla. Taste starts with sweetness but turns to slight bitterness with aroma of caramel. In the end bitterness sticks a bit to long.

Nice smell, not to sweet, very smooth taste with long aftertaste.

Mein 3. Rating und mein Start in die gehobenere Rum-Welt:
Wer deutlich mehr als Havana Club und Captain Morgan will, der sollte zum Pampero im Lederbeutel greifen! Ein Quantensprung dagegen.

Geruch:
Süße ist zu riechen, Toffee und Karamell....leichte Alkoholschärfe ebenfalls....man will sofort probieren!

Geschmack pur (Note 4):
Es dominiert leider die Schärfe des Alkohols. Er ist recht sprittig und die Aromen des leckeren Geruchs sind sofort weg. Im Nachklang wird er etwas rauchig, und/oder sogar bitter? Der Nachgeschmack ist dann nicht schlecht, erscheint insgesamt aber zu unrund und zu scharf.

Hier kommt sofort wieder die Toffee und Karamell-Note zum Vorschein. Die leichte Sprittigkeit (eines Havana Clubs) ist zwar ebenfalls vorhanden, erscheint mir allerdings um einiges süßer und unaufdringlicher. Insgesamt harmoniert der Pampero Aniversario Reserva Exclusiva einfach super mit Cola. Und da ich Rum am liebsten in Cola trinke, ist er momentan mein Lieblings Mix-Rum.
