The Pampero distillery was founded by Alejandro Hernández of Venezuela in 1938. The brand is now a division of the world’s largest liquor holding company, Diageo.

Just started getting into sipping rums on the rocks and this wasn’t a bad one to be in my small collection. Update. I’ve grown to like this rum especially after some ice has melted into it, brings out more of the sweetness and flavors
Maybe just not quite smooth enough to be a sipper, maybe it is.
Defiantly a mixer rather than a sipper I gather it's a blend of rums aged 2-8 years. Mixes well with coke the sweetness compliments the cola well ideally a fentimans.
Nothing spectacular here - just another alcohol with a burning sensation. The rum taste is quickly gone as if you did not even drink it. But it comes in a nice leather packaging - it can be used as a gift that seems more extraordinary than it actually is.
This has become a favorite. Not quite a great sipper but with an ice cube and a splash of water it’s a pretty strong contender and if it’s not a top 10, it’s at least a top 20. It has a strong molasses flavor but isn’t overly sweet. It has a hint of vanilla but again isn’t over powering. It has a bit of a bourbon smell but it doesn’t overwhelm the taste. It is fairly complex. There is a hint of tobacco and berries. I love the leather pouch it comes in [it will remind you of your pirate days ;-) ]. For under $30 at Total Wines, it’s a value that’s hard to beat.
Aniversario is well recognizable because its cute chubby bottle and also the dark color thanks to to maturation in bourbon barrels. The aroma is not very alcoholic, and sweetness, tobacco, caramel and wood dominate in taste. Originally it was mixed in 1963 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the founding of the company, but eventually it got into a regular sale and is still available today. For a good price, you get a quality companion suitable for everyday drinking.
Awesome nutty and little sweet taste. Beautifull colour...maybe not especially nose...little to strong spirit. After a while little to much alcohol in taste. Need to drink cold.
On opening the bottle I got the aroma of butterscotch and coffee. Comes out of the bottle a beautiful caramel color. The first sip I get the taste of butterscotch, coffee, and an unidentified taste. Goes down very smoothly
Quite light and buttery.
"It’s a pleasant nose which suggests good ageing and there is a light oak to the nose which is well balanced."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Alcohol bite up front that lingers on down. Caramel hint.
