Pampero Aniversario Reserva Exclusiva

This is a full bodied aged rum with sweetness and fruit. I love short rum bottles and this one is among the shortest. Most of the bottles on the shelf at the store come in a leather wrap which prompted me to buy my first, just because. 5 bottles later I still keep it among my favorites. A good sipping rum with Warm happy vanilla and fruit. Mellow and well rounded.

Smells of coffee and toffee. Rich flavor or caramel and rum with just a tinge of sweetness and long finish that leaves you wanting more.

A decent rum with a common spicy taste. It's good for casual drinking and has an affordable price. Nothing spectacular.

Great taste. Vanilla, tobacco and oak. Fantastic for 20 €!

First I got my eyes on this one, because of the nice leather pouch in which it's wrapped. But it also has a great taste.
It is smooth, warm and has a leather-tobacco touch at the end.

This is one of the best bargains, you get an actual rum for less than 25 dollars (not supplied with the leather bag for that price but still). That is real cheap, if you consider that this in my opinion beats some of the higher priced rums and absolutely crushes Morgan, cheap Bacardis etc. Was somewhat blander, quite sweet but styl packing a nice punch. Bit dissapointed with the aftertaste but nothing to really change the fact that I enjoyed sipping this. Haven't tried in a cocktail but it might just dissappear

As a side note, I believe that this is the same bottle as Pampero Aniversario, which is listed on this website as a different rum. Correct me if I an wrong.

Ron Añejo Pampero Aniversario je vynikající rum pro opravdové znalce karibských rumů. Jedná se o velice specifický rum, který byl na trh uveden při příležitosti 25tého výročí společnosti Pampero v roce 1963. Je výsledkem dlouholetých znalostí a praktických zkušeností. Zraje v dubových sudech, kde získává intenzívní a bohatou vůni, chuť i krásnou barvu.

Tento excelentní rum je vhodný pro každou příležitost - sklenka v pohodlí domova po dlouhém pracovním dni, přípitek s kamarády v baru nebo jako lahodný doušek před spaním. Je to rum s vlastní tváří. Ochutnejte.

On the nose I detected some wood aromas, almost of smoke. On the palate there is a small hint of sweet at first immediately replaced by a spicy, almost fiery taste. It leaves a flavour of spice and a little bit of smoke. I think that if you like whisky you might like this. I suggest (as the barman that served it to me did) to try it out with some dark chocolate. Let the chocolate melt in your mouth and then sip. The spiciness of the rum will be milder and the chocolate will really go well with it.

As per my title, a bit disappointed with this, as I thought would be better. Expected more as I have so many other rums in the same price range and few below that that deliver more for your money. It's not bad but not amazing, found the initial aroma musty and not clean, did a line up blind tasting with 10 friends against 6 other rums, Plantation rum Belize/Guatemala and the 2005 Guyana, El dorado 12, Ron Abuelo 12, Doorly's 12 Year Old, and Marks and Spencer own label Guyanese XO ten year old, and it was voted the poorest of the selection. Now it doesn't make it a bad rum, just it wasn't to mine or my friends taste.
Everyone will taste it differently, so you will have to make your own decision, I still return to the bottle now and then and have glass, jury is still out on if I will purchase it again which is regretful as I had chosen this as a birthday present from my girlfriend and had been looking forward to trying it.
