Pampero Aniversario was first crafted in 1963 to commemorate the Pampero company’s 25th anniversary. The rum is a blend of rums ranging in maturity from four to six years and aged in whisky and bourbon barrels.
The Pampero distillery was founded by Alejandro Hernández of Venezuela in 1938. The brand is now a division of the world’s largest liquor holding company, Diageo.

Wonderful smell , smooth, slight burn on first swallow but none after. Needs to sit in glass for ten to 15 mins to appreciate the flavours of bananas, vanilla and smoked leather. A must have for any rum specialist. The packaging is nice too, as it comes in a leather pouch with stamp of the company's logo. Good stuff.

Lots of ETOH upon initial sniff. Let it sit for a few minutes and it mellows considerably. By the third refil I’m thinking this is almost too good. Tried it with ginger beer later, nah. Tried with clementine juice, yah, yah, yah.
Nice and smooth but could be more tasteful. Good to have in the collection but not the one That will be finished first. Bourbon like taste is a plus
It starts out somewhat strong. But the taste is really good and at the second sip the strong afterdrink is gone! Really good rum.
The taste is something that really stays, this is a rum that you can drink whole night long
Its a Nice Brown rum. With powerful taste. Its nice spiced. With a flavour aftertaste that's its like a Little Brown dragon kissing your mouth
Nose: tofee, caramel, raisins/dried berry's
Mouth: good complexity, sweet toffee an very smooth..
Tip: I poured the rum in the glass, and left it for about 20 minutes, for the alcohol to vaporize. Otherwise it would be a bit to harsh.
Quite light and buttery.

Maybe for a whisky drinker it is good. You can feel some character but almost no sweetness & flavour.
