Pampero Aniversario was first crafted in 1963 to commemorate the Pampero company’s 25th anniversary. The rum is a blend of rums ranging in maturity from four to six years and aged in whisky and bourbon barrels.
The Pampero distillery was founded by Alejandro Hernández of Venezuela in 1938. The brand is now a division of the world’s largest liquor holding company, Diageo.

I am not a fan of this rum. But it’s not horrible. It’s tasty. Dry. But not complex in any way. One note monotony all the way through. It’s a rum note. It’s solid. But it’s boring and overpriced.
Delicious rum that works a treat as a sipper...uniquely packaged and often discounted which is when I stock up.

Great complex dark rum that seems to have different notes stand out each time.
If you like a hint of tar, coffee, burnt dark chocolate in a good sipping rum you will like. While these tastes are not my favorite I appreciate that this rum explores a flavor profile that is different enough to earn a place in my top 20. Some time after pour helps the alcohol burn.

Good price at 23EUR in Germany - would be an 8 at 45+%.
A solid rum that can be used both alone and for mixing. Recommendable to most.
Tastes like a more expensive rum, has a good kick.

First off, I love the presentation. Brown sugar, vanilla, oak, just enough sweetness, with a little burn. I love it.
