Pampero Aniversario was first crafted in 1963 to commemorate the Pampero company’s 25th anniversary. The rum is a blend of rums ranging in maturity from four to six years and aged in whisky and bourbon barrels.
The Pampero distillery was founded by Alejandro Hernández of Venezuela in 1938. The brand is now a division of the world’s largest liquor holding company, Diageo.

En rigtig god rom, set i forhold til prisen får man en temmelig god rom for pengene.
I was introduced to this rum over 40 years ago and still appreciate the fine taste.

The leather pouch around the bottle is a nice touch. The taste is not so well. Not as sweet as I like. A bit of vanilla, this could be more. As a mixer it's fine, but a bit too expensive for that.
Good alternative to Diplomatico, a bit of a different profile but the same essence. Nice rum to sip neat at a more affordable price point
Leather sack is nice, relative smooth drink.
Not that sweet. Oaky vanilla, reminds me also of smoking cigars. Nice to have in collection
The Aniversario had more flavours and taste then his opponent the Especial.

Old copper-yellow in the glass.
The nose is very timid, subdued. Moderate nose with aroma's of sugar cane, caramel and vanilla.
Another story on the palate, however.
Velvety mouthfeeling.
Aroma's of vanilla, caramel, sugar cane and bourbon. Very complex palate.
Very long finish and perfectly balanced.
Only pity of the subdued nose, because this rum is very good.
Perhaps this rum needs some time to open up.
