Saw this one at my online favourite liquor store and after reading the reviews here, I thought let's give it a try. Nothing already said in the other reviews has been lied about. The bottle is a wonderful square bottle filled with a beautiful really darked coloured rum.
The taste starts sweet, but indeed there is a strong burn that kicks in. After letting it breathe for a while, I was really surprised about the good taste. I sipped this one neet without ice and it is a good one. Definitely worth the try for this price!
First impression of this rum is top shelf great looking bottle, synthetic cork stopper, nice brown color. Not a whole lot going on the nose, no burn not a lot of depth. Slightly sweet on the tongue, again not a lot of depth but a medium lingering pleasant vanilla and oak flavor . Slight burn neat but easy to drink. I think for the $30 range it’s a solid rum but not something I would likely buy again. I guess I’m getting spoiled or have just tried lots of great rums.
Found on sale at Total Wine for $29.99 USD. Very smooth. Hint of vanilla and definitely oak flavors. Mild burn at the end. Sipped neat. Has a dark amber color which is interesting. Beautiful bottle to display as well.
have had this rum for about 1 week and now 1/2 through the bottle and i can say for sure too syrupy for me. Smooth enough but just tastes artificial and pushes my limit on the sweetness which on occasion i do not mind but sweetness with discernable other flavors mixed in (even if it is hard to distinguish exactly what those other flavors may be) but this just has no complexity to it for me. As a mixer I am sure it is fine but neat or on the rocks - meh! Average at best. Don't waste your money. You are not finding some hidden gem of a rum.
Neat out of the bottle: Medium smooth mouth and throat feel leading into a slight burn on the finish. 1 point to sweet. Maple syrup, oak, and sweet tea flavors with slight bitterness at the end.
After letting it breathe for 30 mins: Velvet mouth and throat feel with lasting peppery finish (which I now love). Same flavors as above but mellowed out quite a bit. If it wasn't for being too sweet, this could compete with some upper tier rums.
Good flavors. A bit sweet, but not too sweet. Very heavy burn. I won’t buy again.
vzorek z rumového kalendáře, příjemné pití s kořením v chuti i vůni
Had a tasting at local store. Top offering from Ron Alegro. Very nice bottle. Nice color. Not much nose. Substantially thicker than the other Ron Alegro offerings. Fair mouthfeel. Some oak to go with the omnipresent vanilla. Not complex. Some burn. Not much bite. Not as sweet as the others. Short but smooth finish. All in all a decent rumat a decent price but there are SO many better runs out there in this price range. Keep looking
A bit of a burn overrides some of the taste, but still worth sipping
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

A wee bit too oaky for me but fairly smooth. Starts like leather and ends a bit like cherry. Refreshing enough that the bottle went pretty quick. A respectable offering and not badly priced either.
