Rum Company of Fiji Ratu 8-Year

This 8 year old Fiji rum got turned into a liqueur - very sweet and clocking in at 35% compared to its counterparts at 40%.
Deep and rich flavor - cacao, coffee, coconut and baking spices.
Too sweet for my palate, but chilled its a nice shot and in your coffee, instead of a coffee liqueur in cocktails, or just over vanilla ice-cream as dessert - it’s phenomenal.

A rum that when first opened was fairly easy to drink.
However as time passed, the flavours became overpowering. Now it still works well with ginger beer.

Too sweet.
Artificial sweetness taste and sticky.
Back ground flavours nice but the fake strong sweet coconut taste isn’t for me.

De couleur ambré, ce rum aux arômes de chocolat, vanille épicés et surtout orange.

Extremely sweet and caramely. Like honey and caramel, maybe a bit of orange peel there too. And add some vanilla and chocolate. 24 rums collection with S.

Kraftig duft sprittet smage. Middelmådig rum der ikke gøre meget væsen af sig.

Is it really a rum? Offered great aroma but very little else other than intense sweetness. Knocked first one back but suffered thru the second.

This is a nice rum over ice, which is how I drink it. I like most of the Fijian rums and this one too; but it is very sweet and just at the end of the taste palette there a funny chemically taste. As another reviewer says why add flavouring to an 8 year old rum. At $67 AUD its not cheap either. I am unsure whether I will buy this again, its a case of I like it; but then I don't?

In the aroma very strong coconut accent. Maybe is possible to smell sugar. The rum is very liqueur, very sweet. The taste very reminds me one the type of sweet - rum ball (coconut, chocolate, cocoa and rum).

This is an incredibly sweet rum liqueur almost Kahlua.
The rum equivalent of a desert wine perhaps.
Not at all harsh, pleasant to sip on ice but has an incredibly overwhelming vanilla and coffee note.
I couldn't imagine drinking more than one or two and even then after a meal.

Its not awful, but it's hard to consider it a rum.
