Very dry rum, not sweet at all, spicy at a first taste, after two or three sip you can definitely taste the sherry. Maybe too much sherry for my taste, not a typical bajan rum, if that is what you are looking for.
Purchased at Astor Wines in NYC for $69. Upon sniffing for the first time, you could really smell the sherry overtones. First sip is welcoming - very smooth but it reminds you this is a higher than normal ABV of 46%. Very nice sherry finish. Very enjoyable.
Haven’t had any of the other Foursquare products, but this is top shelf stuff. Full flavoured and an excellent sipping rum.
I've tried a few Foursquare rums now, including the 2004 at 59% ABV, and this is the only one I've needed to add water to. I don't view that as a positive, and neither does my esophagus (although my throat is strangely fine with it). The flavor is quite pleasant--after a few drops of water, that is. It's less fruity than the Zinfandel; maybe more baking spice-like. The aftertaste is short, though. I'd say it's a 7 out of the bottle, and an 8 if you add a couple of drops of water per ounce.
Som vanligt god, prisvärd. Säkert kort. Utan socker.
A limited rum by Foursquare that is aged for 3 years in ex-bourbon barrels followed by another 7 years in ex-sherry barrels and bottled at 46%ABV.
I believe this rum is limited to 8000 bottles in the us as 8000 bottles in the UK.
Notes of grapes, green apple, vanilla, oak, spice balance out this rum remarkably so that you don’t feel like your drinking a Zacapa or Diplomatico with the added sugar.
Won’t be around long so be sure to get your bottle. Kind of like getting one of Wonka’s Golden Tickets.
Very nice enjoyed neat!
Belle couleurs Ambré/orangé assez clair
Nez : douce odeurs boisés
Bouche : boisée, légèrement épicé, cacao?Belle structure et équilibre
Vieillissement Bourbon, Maturation Sherry
Note générale :7,8
Note gamme 45-60 euros : 8,3
Excellent on the rocks with a tiny tiny splash of tonic..with no lime/lemon. Smooth and most enjoyable. HOWEVER, if U look at the age and price of this rum in comparison to the Kirk and Sweeney 23, then the Kirk and Sweeney wins hands down. One of my new hot spots serves the Premise at a very reasonable price so I’ll continue to enjoy it there but at my house..only the Eldorado 21 and the Kirk and Sweeney 23. ( and yes, I know the Kirk and Sweeney is not a true 23) will be served.
It is light and fruity with notes of fortified wine.
"Gently, well balanced spice and oak mingle along nicely with just enough of the sweet fruits and sherry notes."

Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Nice bottle with great info on the label. A wonderful colour with a bit of Sherry influence. The Sherry starts the nose but soon gives way to an aged rum with plenty of cask. Tasting is a quality dry rum with Sherry notes and wonderful cask age. There is a burn due to the 46 abv but a great long finish. $84 at LCBO is a good price but I think at that price there are better sippers.
